# § #Recipes/Pets # Gehms Created Saturday 20 November 2010 Garlic Beef & Cheddar Dog Biscuits “Gehms” Ingredients 3 1/2 c whole wheat flour 1/2 c reduced fat shredded cheddar cheese 1/4 c skim milk 1 tbsp margarine 1 c beef broth (See notes) 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp oregano (optional) Instructions 1. Preheat oven to 350°. 2. Combine flour with cheddar cheese. Add skim milk, margarine, garlic powder, oregano (optional) and beef broth. 3. Knead dough until firm. Roll into 1/4" thickness. 4. Stamp out with cookie cutters and place on ungreased cookie sheet. 5. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Notes IMPORTANT: Onions in any form are not good and sometimes fatal to dogs. Finding a beef broth without onion/onion powder as an ingredient is going to be difficult at best. The unmodified version of this recipe called for bullion cubes, but I could not find any of those or any other form of base that did not include onions or onion powder as an ingredient. Eventually I found a brand (Pacific Natural Foods) that had a carton of already made beef broth with a simple list of a few ingredients. I found this brand at Sentry Foods.
