# Simon d'Entremont Process
- Cropping
- Do I have an artistic photo or not?
- Exposure
- Is my photo too bright or too dark? Simple.
- White Balance
- Try the eye dropper - click on it and choose a white part of the photo
- Tones
- Global all image
- Local just a part
- Simon's mileage suggests that the Highlights and Shadows sliders to be more subtle than that of the Whites & Blacks
- You can do this with the tone curve and make a slight S-curve (this is manually what the contrast slider does)
- Local Adjustments
- Subject select (black bird)
- Details and Clarity
- Clarity is hardcore be subtle
- Use the mask if necessary to use the clarity slider
- Colors
- Vibrance Increases the vividness of the least vivid colors more and most vivid colors less. It's subtle and for this reason it's Simons' preference.
- He says when you like it dial it back a bit, this is where most people go too hard.
- Saturation Increases the vividness of colors evenly
- Noise Reduction
- Don't go too hard here as it will "shave off" details of your photos. Some noise is okay cos you're not looking at your photos at 600% when they're hanging on the wall.
- Sharpening
- Move the slider. Sharp, but not crunchy!
- Look at the face, zoom it in.
- ??? - Wait 30 MINUTES
- Exporting
- he doesn't export higher than 5,000kb
- 2048 on the long end
---
Save a preset - he only undoes WHITE BALANCE also his auto isn't checked
