I live and work in the Midwest United States. My family matters to me deeply, especially my darling Christina. I work weekends. I work holidays. I miss things. I still try and be present as best I can. [Cat guy](https://www.wmprkr.xyz/cats/) 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛ [Obsidian](https://obsidian.md/) devotee (Christina says I'm a fanboy), and amateur photographer. Linux[^1] and Mac[^2] user. The posts that I make here start in my Obsidian Daily Notes and then posted here with Obsidian's baked-in browser. It isn’t polished or optimized, and it’s not meant to be. My words reflect the way things appear when they actually show up; incomplete, grammatically incorrect, and often sharp. Grammar and spelling Nazis gonna have a field day here. I care about noticing things for what they are before time edits them into something easier to live with. Like the photographs on my camera roll, when I come back and revisit these posts later on it really helps me understand where my head was at. I am terrible at morbid daydreaming and flickers of that will be present in my text. While I try to remain as stoic as possible in most situations nowadays, the reality is I spent a vast majority of the first forty years on this earth with a sort of negative attitude about my life, the world, people and just sort of everything in general. I disliked things so much that I guess I wanted everyone around me to feel that way, either directly or indirectly. The worst bit of it is, for a majority of that time, I wasn't really aware of how much I brought down the world around me. There is not really any other way to articulate it other that bluntly like that. That whole *"life is what you make it"*[^3] adage is serious, and a hard pill to swallow, but it's truly liberating to take the lesson. <span class="fieldmark"></span> If you see random posts show up, maybe even out of place, please excuse the mess. I am in the process of importing about 15 years worth of posts to BearBlog from old WordPress blogs I have maintained over the years.
