So this _'high-tech guy'_ is officially switched over to a **low-tech GTD system**. I think applications like [iGTD](http://bargiel.home.pl/iGTD/http://bargiel.home.pl/iGTD/) were made by god himself, but when it comes down to the end of the day i found it a little hard to glance at my GTD system when i was in the store with [absolved](http://absolved.livejournal.com/), when everything is logged on my [iBook](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ibook). surely before i go to the store i could (and was) busting out a [moleskine](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moleskine) and writing down everything i wanted to check out while we were at the store, but i did not have a recovery plan for when my world would change. if we were at target, and suddenly krystal wanted to go to the [fish store](http://wiki.vanillatree.org/index.php?title=Aquatics_Unlimited), i would have no idea what (if anything) i should be looking at there, because i do not have my system with me to calibrate accordingly. back in the day i of course got around this by exporting my lists to my desktop on my computer and uploading it then to my website, then navigating to those pages via my [Treo 650](http://www.flickr.com/photos/mesh/118205090/). simple, an all digital-system; nearly seamless. that all ended a snowy day last year when i gave my Treo a rolling thunder splash down two flights of stairs into a pile of melting snow. sure it sucks watching a phone die before your eyes (and only moreso when its your prised Treo), but after that pain numbed away and i got around to cancelling the options with [my provider](http://www.sprint.com/), pert-near slashing my monthly bill in eighths, you learn to deal with it. so i've literally been running around with a list (or two) when i go somewhere, begging, hoping, that nothing jumps in front of my face. i was also feeling a bottle neck when i would be at a store or somewhere and i wanted to make a quick note. when i would write something down i would then later have to retype that into iGTD, and then it seemed stuff would sit in [my inbox](http://wiki.vanillatree.org/index.php?title=What_Do_You_Mean_%22Inbox%22%3F) for a while before any decisions were actually made. now with my paper based system, i'm up and running. 24x7, no matter where i am i'm ready to recalibrate my system and actions to match. boy oh boy, do i love you [Mr. David Allen](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Allen_%28author%29).
