an old friend of mine moved away to the east side a few years back. we were really close (at one time) we went to new york together several years ago.
but then after we all got "old" she up and moved away. at first it was like "ah that sucks"
but i got used to it.
that was over three years ago. now its her birthday today and like the last THREE YEARS ive sent my old friend a happy birthday text message.
i'm not sure if she doesn't know who i am, or what.
but i would have appreciated something other than "Thanx" as a response. we've spent the better part of our teenage years together, and all i get is a fucking "thankx?"
what's up with the phone call that's a waste of my time, or calling to stop out to the house once and meet my future wife?
nah, none of that..
i'd love to say i wont send her any more happy birthday text messages -- but i will. its just a shame how ppl toss you off the the roadside the second something of interest is off in the distance.
