![](images/Glippy-About.jpeg "Glippy-About")A quick update to all the Ubuntu-heads out there.  We posted earlier last week about [Anamnesis](http://anamnesis.sourceforge.net/) and how it was our new default "Clipboard Manager" for our Ubuntu installation.  Well Anamnesis is indeed a truly great application indeed but we found something that just worked a little more smooth. It's called **[Glippy](https://launchpad.net/glippy)**.  It looks and feels much like the once epic [Parcellite](http://parcellite.sourceforge.net/) does, but unlike Parcellite development for this application is still active, with its most recent update being January 30th.  Parcellite's development died a long time ago (or at least that was the story around the campfire) but according to the page at [Sourceforge](http://sourceforge.net/) it still seems quite active, in fact they released 1.0.2rc1 on the 24th of March.  So perhaps we give Parcellite a change again in the future but for now we are happy as can be with Glippy! Simple and straight-forward, Glippy offers an "Actions" and "Snippets" feature so you can "executing actions on selected text" although we haven't really figured out that element yet (nor had we utilized it in Parcellite either) but the Real Win that is really worth your time is the "Snippets" feature.  This will allow you store part of text you paste most often (think signatures, bits of code, your email address, stuff like that) and keep them in a sub-menu for easily-pastable-access! We are quite happy we our decision of Glippy and hope that if you are in the market for such a utility that you will consider giving it a shot! **♇**
