Our first Grocery Store Watchdog report:
## Changes at ALDI since April 14, 2011:

- **Beaumount Coffee has been downsized 0.6 ounce** from 34.5 ounces to 33.9. The price has remained the same at $4.99, which is still a deal. I've noticed that while the receipts reflect the size change, the sign (in at least my local store) has not.
- **Price-change:** Lunchmate/Fit & Active "lunch meat", 9oz/8oz +0.20 @ $2.69
- **Price-change:** Fit & Active Plain Nonfat Yogurt, 32oz +0.20 @ $1.79
- Friendly Farms changed up the label of their French Vanilla creamer a little bit. The blue is slightly lighter. I think they are going to start trying to trick people. The Sugar-Free French Vanilla creamer is in a lighter blue label as well, and if you have ever tried it you may also agree it is quite possibly the worst thing ever to be considered as a coffee additive. My lovely Wife tells me all "Sugar Free" things taste that way tho.
- The 3-Pack of "Hearts of Romaine" lettuce have changed names. From Capurro to Ocean Mist Farms. Price has stayed the same at $2.59, but the size went up to 22 ounces whereas the Capurro labels were clocking in at 18.
Something worth pointing out that I noticed while pulling numbers for this post. If you buy your lunchmeat from ALDI for sandwhiches or whatever during the week, consider going straight for the Lunchmate brand over Fit & Active. Your now paying the same price ($2.69) for both brands and Fit & Active weighs in an ounce short in comparison to Lunch mate.
On the face on it, it sounds petty. But over the course of time those single ounces weigh in and together make whole sandwiches. And that my friends is money saved. **♇**
