I've always been told that flowers out of a grocery store, delivered in person was the way to go. Cheaper flowers can sit in the front-seat if you're willing to take them to your person directly. However, as many gentlemen out there already know, there is not too much focus put into the floral department inside of any of the struggling grocery store chains in Milwaukee county. I used to ride my BMX past this location in the Falls growing up, and when I asked my phone where to buy flowers yesterday they pointed me to +Bel-Air. From the moment I walked inside, all that corporate marketing stuff stayed outside and waited for me patiently. Clearly this establishment is ran by a hands-on, involved with customers, and passionate person. Which is refreshing to see, especially in 2013. The woman running the place (I'm assuming the owner) was on the phone with a customer when I got in, so I got an opportunity to poke around and see what was all offered. Handmade this, handcrafted that―a warm inviting presence exists here. I've carried a half-dozen roses to my car plenty of times, but somehow this time I felt I was hauling delicate, heavy groceries. What a package! I'm a cook by profession, so I have obscure ways to analyze things, but Bel-Aire had it all from the dried parsley around the edge of the plate, to the properly formed butter dollop on the side. You can tell she spends as much time putting together the bouquets as she does concerning herself with the quality of the flowers.
