Apparently as it stands now a gentlemen named [Luke Evans](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luke_Evans_%28actor%29) is the one they have tapped to play Eric Draven in the (now) reboot of The Crow.  Even talks about how it is going to be 'as loyal as possible' to the original.  All sorts of rumors floated around a while back I remember hearing people go on about how [some guy who is those Hangover movies](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bradley_Cooper) was going to be playing Eric Draven.  I haven't seen the new Total Recall but from those people who thought the original was pretty "neat" found the remake dismissable.  So I had the immediate assumption if they have people who are playing comedic roles doing **The Crow** that it was going to be a "glittery and sparkley" version of Detroit with an equally bright version of a thought Crow figure.  However this Luke Evans fellow looks a lot more along the lines of someone who ought to be asked to play The Crow. The '94 original was genuinely dark, and so this new one just cant be slopped together for a quick dollar.  This movie and the first Boondock Saints were both _dark_.  They had a certain element to them that made you feel dirt, cold and vulnerable while a crow floats over the Motor City. Also in great news the original creator of the storyline has prime creative input on the remake as well.  That has to be good, right?
