Oh how I used to poo-poo the idea of _streaming audio_ on my computer. Last.fm was initially what broke that for me many, many years ago. Now I don't listen to Last.fm, and if I hadn't been a member for so many years I would probably look into ending my service. But I don't want it be another bad decision like [Twitter](http://twitter.com/eshm) and [Instagram](http://instagram.com/thirdwilliam) were off the bat.
However it's 2014 now and streaming audio has pretty much taken center stage. Even on my 'default listening' of music, it is typically done with my own library over Google Play Music via Chromecast. What a mouthful. Local music still does of course happen, and that is still done with Clementine.
But this is in regards to streaming audio. In order of dominance as of May 1st of 2014 it would have to be Google Play Music (gotta love those Instant Mixes!), Soma.FM, Songza, Pandora. The only thing that sucks about listening to Soma.FM is I can't do it through Chromecast, which is what we have our good speakers hooked up to.
