I spent some of my time this morning walking over to the Civic Center to see about this job fair happening for Casey's which is set to be opening in the area somewhat soon I would presume. I was taken back by how impressive the Civic Center is on the inside as I've always sort of kept myself out of the building because of the reservations I know my Grandmother has about the place. But it sure is a nice addition the budding village of Sussex if you ask me. They had these cardboard stands signaling where to go for this job fair near the hallway by where you would go to ask for help if you were lost. When I made my way down the hallway I took stock at what I heard going on inside of the room. It sounded like a smaller room and the people inside were all on this guy I came to know was named Miguel. He was detailing some god-awful social situation about an ex-girlfriend for whatever reason so I was hesitant to go in the room. When I heard them sit him down on a different table to properly fill out an application is when I decided to walk in. The guy who was talking to Miguel originally took a shine to me right away and the energy I was excerpting as were the other ladies. I was told almost immediately as I was already aware that I was overqualified for almost every job title they had in the store. So it was wrapped up somewhat quick and I'm back at home typing these words. Now it's off to work and to put more of a focus on doing better there as that "backup plan" we thought we could lean on is no longer legit.
