# The Election is Over ```yaml title: The Election is Over published_date: 2024-11-07 07:52 ``` πŸˆβ€β¬› --- Well, it's over. It is always that immediate next day, after the smoke has cleared when those insane donation totals we just glazed over for the last several months, when you total all of that up, one has to seriously ponder how much tangible change in the world could actually have taken place if that money was spent on shit that actually mattered. There was different energy in the air today among the public. Not too many long faces but there was a stillness that would normally not be there unless it was the very early hours of the day and the store had just opened. Most of the outrage I saw was online. There were a lot of extremely happy people, both employees of the store and vendors/delivery people in the back. I am in Wisconsin, so it's always this back-and-fourth thing when it comes to voting for President. Don't make any mistake about it, with the very clear exceptions of Madison and Milwaukee, and the very close surrounding communities that touch them geographically, our state is red. You can cut the steaks to whatever thickness you like, you're the one who is going to be grilling them for dinner - but the reality is the only issue I really heard the public discussing was a very concerned one about their kids and their grandchildren being indoctrinated into whatever the fuck is going on in public schools. Lots of chatter about boys playing girls sports and goings on about the locker room and changing clothes. Not just from some angry old man perspective either. I'm talking about stay-at-home moms who have daughters who are dealing with this at school right now. Truly passionate people. Passionate to the point of boiling over. Truly heated. I feel like that was a primary driving factor for a lot of people who were perhaps inactive voters in the past. At least from the part of the country where I am coming from. Personally, I have a pretty good record for voting for the team that does not win the election. Despite this, I am so far down the food-chain in regards to income that whoever has been President in my lifetime has never actually effected my daily life. The only time this was not true was when I had almost all my taxes taken away because I didn't have health insurance. Nothing else has ever effected me on any level whatsoever. So I suppose if there is a benefit be part of in the depths of the lower-middle-class, it is that. So in a lot of ways, it's back to our regularly scheduled program. The silent majority of this planet, the people and energies that actually make this world spin β€” are good. Good is natural and as the story goes, ***nature always finds a way.*** ---

βœ‰οΈ Reply by Email
